Tourism Law & Sustainability Conference
An international online conference connecting tourism law, sustainability and rural development, conceived, managed and delivered by EXA Group Canada through Edmar Xavier’s complete project leadership.

Overview
EXA Group Canada created and delivered the First International Conference of Multilateral Cooperation in Tourism Law & Sustainability. Held online on September 27–28, 2023, the two-day programme connected international perspectives on tourism governance, Indigenous tourism, rural development and environmental responsibility. Edmar Luiz Xavier Neto led the project from its initial concept through planning, coordination and delivery.
The conference brought together perspectives from academia, industry and communities to explore how tourism development relates to legal frameworks, sustainability and local opportunity. Its programme made room for different disciplines and operating contexts. Edmar’s overall project leadership connected the conference’s broader themes with the practical requirements of international coordination and online delivery.
The challenge
Tourism involves economic opportunity, community participation, cultural responsibility and environmental protection. Exploring these subjects across countries and disciplines required a coordinated international programme. The challenge was to turn an ambitious concept into a deliverable event while managing speaker relationships, communications, financial administration and operations, and creating a clear structure for expert contributions and discussion.
Our work
- Developed the conference concept, objectives, project charter and implementation plan, establishing the direction and practical requirements for the event.
- Led international outreach and speaker coordination, with speakers contributing their expertise and helping shape the conference programme.
- Prepared sponsorship proposals and managed budgets, supporting relationships, marketing, website content and participant communications throughout the project.
- Organized operational requirements and delivered the online conference from project preparation through live event implementation.
Outputs
- A two-day international online conference delivered on September 27–28, 2023.
- A programme connecting tourism law, sustainability, Indigenous tourism and rural development.
- Project planning, speaker coordination, communications and delivery brought together under clear overall leadership.
Role
Edmar Luiz Xavier Neto held end-to-end responsibility for the project through EXA Group Canada. Speakers supported programme development with their subject expertise, while Edmar managed the wider planning, coordination, administration, communications and event delivery. The case demonstrates EXA’s ability to take a complex international initiative from concept into an organized programme.
The first edition was delivered entirely online, allowing the programme to connect speakers and perspectives internationally while placing the event’s planning and delivery under one coordinated project structure.
