TIAC READI
Technical visits, practical workshops and regional symposiums supporting tourism businesses and destination partners across six Canadian provinces and the Northwest Territories during 2022 and 2023.

Overview
EXA Group Canada’s work on TIAC READI combined direct technical visits with practical learning and regional exchange. Led and delivered by Edmar Xavier in 2022–2023, the programme reached six provinces and the Northwest Territories. Workshops and five regional symposiums created opportunities for tourism businesses and destination partners to examine readiness, share local perspectives and identify priorities for their next steps.
Delivery combined an on-the-ground perspective with facilitated learning. Technical visits provided a direct view of tourism operations, while workshops created space to discuss readiness in relation to local business and destination needs. The symposiums extended this exchange across regions, bringing different operating contexts into the conversation and connecting individual experiences with broader tourism development questions.
The challenge
Tourism businesses operate in different markets and community contexts, with varying resources and development needs. The challenge was to connect national learning with local conditions, using technical visits and facilitated workshops to make readiness discussions practical while creating opportunities for shared learning among businesses and destination partners across Canadian regions.
Our work
- Conducted technical visits to understand tourism operations, local conditions and the practical questions facing businesses and destination partners.
- Delivered workshops across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta, connecting programme learning with different provincial contexts.
- Delivered workshops in the Northwest Territories, extending the work to a northern operating context and its local tourism perspectives.
- Hosted five symposiums covering Canada’s five economic regions, supporting regional dialogue and exchange alongside the programme’s technical visits and workshop delivery.
Outputs
